Join The Mission Continues as platoons around the country remember and honor the events on September 11, 2001, by participating in a National Day of Service. For the second year in a row, veterans and community members will be partnering with Thomas Edison High School for a meaningful project alongside students and educators. Edison High School is recognized as having suffered the highest Vietnam War casualty rate of former students among any high school in the country. This September, help us remember and honor those 64 fallen soldiers known as the "Edison 64". Projects for the day are likely to include: - Building additional outdoor picnic tables - Installing umbrellas at the picnic tables - Staining and sealing previously built picnic tables - Beautifying the cafeteria by adding artificial plants to the walls to create a simulated live plant wall - Painting all 3 staff lounges - Building a court room style bench to be used for mock debates
