Sound The Alarm

Come support Sound The Alarm with Hawaii's Red Cross. We will be working in teams to install smoke alarms in at-risk housing. The event will take place from 8 am to 1 pm. Lunch is provided. Families are welcome to participate, but keiki must be 16 years or older to volunteer.

Teams will be made up of 3-4 individuals, filling the roles of installer, educator, documenter, and an assistant:
• Documenter: completes documentation forms and keeps track of supplies, including number of smoke alarms installed.
• Safety Educator: reviews fire safety checklist and prevention tips and helps residents complete fire escape plans.
• Assistant: assists installer with tools, supplies and safety.
• Installer: installs smoke alarms with resident’s permission and within manufacturer’s and program guidelines.

Watch Modules 1 and 2. Depending on your position, watch an additional module:
