Boston Platoon

Event overview

In honor of Women's History Month, the Boston 1st Service Platoon has organized a day of service alongside the young women at The Home for Little Wanderers' Somerville Village Program. The innovative program is designed to enable young women who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness to pursue post-secondary education by providing housing, therapeutic, emotional, and educational supports. This service-project will be women-led and focused on supporting women. We are looking for 15 dynamic women (and men) veterans and community members to come out and volunteer with us for a good cause. We will be on-site cleaning the interior and exterior of the house, building picnic tables for use in the warmer weather, creating new wall decor, and more! Snacks and lunch will be provided. This project is for ages 18+.
