Earth Day - Forest Preserve

In recognition of Earth Day, Chicago 3rd Platoon has partnered with the Cook County Forest Preserve. We will be working with Forest Preserve stewards to provide help in repairing, maintaining and cleaning up our forests. Work will include: brush clearing removal of invasive plants buck thorn/honey suckle spreading of native plant seeds brush pile burn. We will also be partnering with ALLENFORCE, a local non-profit that brings together veterans, families and communities in an effort to bridge military and civilian life. ALLENFORCE will be bringing their VETANKS, all-terrain chairs available for use by qualified veterans, enabling independent participation in outdoor and adventure recreation.
