A few years ago, ten members of the Maggie L. Walker clas of 1967, decided to embark on a massive journey to correct the neglect bestowed upon Evergreen Cemetery. It was like no one cared for the history of the people interred there. It was just not right that the City of Richmond and the ex-owners allowed this area to become overgrown to the point that you could not see the head stones. Fast forward to the present. With the help from about 850 volunteers so far, we have been able to recover about about 18 acres. but with the growing seasons coming each year, we lose back some acres. We need your help with cleaning up the area again.
