Hello TMC Family, It’s time for our monthly support event with Gardopia Gardens! So Let’s Bring On Some Blue Awesomeness!! If you aren’t able to come out to this support event, no worries because this is a monthly support event where those who are a part of TMC can come out when their schedules can accommodate these wonderful moments to fellowship with other TMC members and Gardopia Gardens members and volunteers from the community. For those of you new to the platoon here is a little background on who they are: Gardopia began in 2015, to address health disparities in a high-crime corridor on the near Eastside of San Antonio. Initially funded with the Bryne grant through the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA), Gardopia implemented Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) as a methodology for crime reduction. Working with SAHA, Gardopia became the Eastside's first Garden Utopia, where members of the community began growing their own food on an abandon lot. http://www.gardopiagardens.org/ I am really looking forward to seeing you there!
