You're invited to join our partners - NPCA on National Trails Day for a trail restoration project in North Cascades National Park! We will be helping the National Park Service prepare the Pyramid Peak Trail for this year’s park visitors by improving the tread on the trail, enhancing drainage, and cutting back vegetation. This year marks the 50th birthday of North Cascades National Park. Help us celebrate this magnificent landscape by giving back through volunteer service. Space on the project is limited -- so reserve your spot today! WHERE TO MEET: Meet at the North Cascades Visitor Center in Marblemount on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. From there, we will carpool together on a 15 minute drive to the Pyramid Peak trailhead. WHO: All volunteers ages 12 and up are welcome! Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present. OPTIONAL FREE CAMPING: Gorge Lake campground is only 5 minutes away by car from our meeting place, and is available for free on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campground has no running water or trash services, so plan to bring your own water and pack out all trash. Additionally, for those interested, Jason Kucinski (TMC NPS Detachment Leader) is staying overnight at the campground. 10 miles up the road is Diablo Lake. He will be doing a day hike early the next morning. And he's more than happy to lead a group. If people do stay, they will need a bear can, lots of water, and practice good Leave No Trace. It is a primitive camp area. In short, they will be car camping. If attending, you will also need to sign up on the NPCA event site at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/national-trails-day-with-npca-tickets-45998854813
