November 11, 2017

11:00 AM - 02:30 PM EST

Pittsburgh Platoon

Event overview

Join us, on Veterans Day, as we celebrate, in service, those who have served our country. The Pittsburgh and Philadelphia service platoons will be mobilizing to Somerset County, where we will be volunteering at the National Parks site, The Flight 93 Memorial. National Parks Service staff has asked for our volunteers to clear the invasive plants and tree limbs from the large fence surrounding the Flight 93 crash site in order to preserve the fencing and keep the site protected. National Parks Service has asked us to attend their Veterans Day Program from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, honoring those who have served in the Armed Forces. Our volunteers will then have lunch on site from 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM. The service project portion of the day will run from 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM. Please note, that the Flight 93 Memorial and Visitor Center remains open until 5:00 PM and is free, so there will be time after the project to see the entire memorial for those interested. The Flight 93 Memorial is approximately 1.5 hours outside of Pittsburgh, so please plan your transportation accordingly. This is a separate event from the cabin so please register even if you will be at the cabin.
