When Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico last year, thousands of families were forced to evacuate to Central Florida with only their most personal possessions in tow. The weekend before Veteran’s Day, we brought together more than 120 volunteers to build 225 pieces of furniture, repair 50 bicycles, and create more than 100 welcome home kits for Puerto Rican evacuee families. Now, it’s time to start putting smiles on faces. The second and final phase of furniture distribution will take place at the same location where this all started!! The biggest need for assistance will be at our warehouse in Kissimmee, Saturday morning. We will be loading a portion of the support items into the families vehicles as they drive through. Many hands make light work and we’re going to need all hands on deck to make this event a success. Thank you for continuing to serve and I look forward to seeing you Saturday morning! Lunch will be provided for all volunteers CHARLIE MIKE!!
