Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors or TAPS contacted The Mission Continues to help recruit service members and veterans to mentor children of the fallen at our Good Grief Camp from March 15-17, 2019 at Fort Hood, Texas. TAPS is the national nonprofit caring for the families of America's fallen military heroes. From March 15-17, TAPS will host 100 surviving military children from across the region as they come together to connect with others who have experienced similar losses. This is a special event that will last for three (3) days. Once you sign up for this event through our platoon website, please contact the Platoon Leader immediately at amartinez@missioncontinues.org to receive more information and further instructions. Since volunteers will be working with and around young children, all volunteers must register via the TAPS website also and consent to a background check. It is crucial that you contact the Platoon Leader after opting to sign up for this event because merely signing up via our platoon website is not enough to be a volunteer for the role of military mentor. You must pass the background check through a third-party to work with and around the children or mentees.
