The Travis Manion Foundation

The Travis Manion Foundation exists to assist the families of Fallen Heroes and our wounded Veterans.

Travis was asked before he left for Iraq why he had to go and he became known for his response, "If not me, then who". He always placed others before himself and helping those in need was something that came very easily for him. In keeping the spirit of his selfless nature alive, the Travis Manion Foundation continues his mission.

United We Serve

"United We Serve" is a nationwide service initiative that will help meet growing social needs resulting from the economic downturn. With the knowledge that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things when given the proper tools, President Obama is asking us to come together to help lay a new foundation for growth. This initiative aims to both expand the impact of existing organizations by engaging new volunteers in their work and encourage volunteers to develop their own "do-it-yourself" projects. United We Serve is an initial 81 days of service but will grow into a sustained, collaborative and focused effort to promote service as a way of life for all Americans.

Give an Hour

Give an Hour's mission is to develop national networks of volunteers capable of responding to both acute andchronic conditions that arise within our society. Our first target population is the U.S. troops and families who are being affected by the current military conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Give an HourTM is asking mental health professionals nationwide to literally donate an hour of their time each week to provide free mental health services to military personnel and their families. Research will guide the development of additional services needed by the military community, and appropriate networks will be created to respond to those needs. Individuals who receive services will be given the opportunity to give an hour back in their own community.
