Fellows serve at the nonprofit or community organization of their choice part-time (20 hours per week) for six months. All incoming Fellows for 2013 Charlie Class will convene in St. Louis, Missouri July 19-21 for a three day pre-fellowship orientation.

Fellows and staff from The Mission Continues braved the impending blizzard Friday afternoon to ring The Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. 2013 Alpha Class Fellows Trent Love and Karlene Williams joined staff from the New York City area in bringing the market to a close for the week.

Katie Spier served nearly seven years in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate, responsible for the safe care and storage of ammunition and explosives. In 2010, Katie chose to end her enlistment to pursue a full-time education. Wanting to continue her service, she reached out to The Mission Continues.

Through The Mission Continues, Jean Carlos was granted a fellowship with the Armed Services YMCA in San Diego, CA. Jean Carlos uses his leadership skills and fitness experience gained in the military to assist wounded veterans in rehabilitation clinics.

Fellowships are eligible to post-9/11 veterans with at least two years of service (unless serious injury was sustained), and an honorable discharge. Bravo Class Fellows will begin their fellowship on May 6, 2013 following a three-day fellowship orientation in New York City.

Through The Mission Continues, Chad was granted a fellowship at the Student Veteran’s Organization at the Community College of Rhode Island. At SVO, Chad provides guidance to veterans and their families in how to properly use their VA and school benefits.
