Operation Nourish Fields 4 Valor

Join The Mission Continues DC at the Fields 4 Valor Farms in Brandywine MD Fields 4 Valor Farms is in a veteran led nonprofit farm that grows a free weekly farm share (consisting of fresh vegetables, honey, eggs, etc) for veteran families facing food insecurity and homelessness in the DC Metro Area. Fields 4 Valor Fields will delivery roughly $1,000 of fresh vegetables, eggs, and honey to 25 veteran families in 2020. TMC volunteers will assist Fields 4 Valor catching up with things on the farm. Due to COVID they have been unable to sustain a steady level of volunteer help resulting in us just barely keeping up with harvest. We will be prepping growing beds for additional planting so F4V can keep the production levels up and clearing back the wilderness so they can continue to expand our growing space into our four additional acres. Volunteers will be fed at the end of the event All Personal Protection Equipment PPE will be provided. Volunteers should be prepared for outdoor work, sun screen, wear hats and bring water bottles. Additional drinks and snacks will be provided at the site.
