It is clear that the need for a shift to Operation Nourish was an essential one. The number of individuals looking for assistance has increased. I would have hoped by now we would be on the down turn. Unfortunately this is not the case, many food pantries and food banks have increased their operations. But the number of volunteers has not increased, and in some cases it has decreased. Leaving these operations short handed and over worked. For this event we will be partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay to assist and support in their efforts to provide food to our community. Last month the platoon assisted in servicing over 3,000 vehicles this is not counting the multiple families contained in some vehicles. If you are willing and able to assist it would make a world of difference to those out here working these events, as well as the countless individuals relying on these food drives to help make ends meet. Here is Feeding Tampa Bays Guiding Principles. • We are mission passionate for feeding those in need • We fight hunger, not just with food, but with knowledge of the issue • We serve our clients compassionately and free of prejudice • We act with integrity as we steward the resources entrusted to us • We value collaborative partnerships – both internally and externally – which are the lifeblood of our success • We are driven by the moral responsibility to uplift our community Minimum age is 13 years old with adult supervision.
