Service Project

Inaugural Garden Build in Hamilton Heights

November 23, 2019

11:00 AM - 03:00 PM EST

New York City Platoon

Event overview

Back in the Spring, The Harlem Platoon helped out the 134 ST Block Association in Hamilton Heights revitalize their neighborhood after they decided to make a change within their community. They were so happy with our help they have asked us to return!!!!!! On 134 ST there is an empty lot that the block association has permission to build a beautiful garden space for the community to come together and celebrate, talk about local issues, and bring the community together as a whole. But they need our help! Phase 1 of the event we will build 2 benches and some garden beds that the space will use in the Spring. The rest of the space will be completed in the Spring. Our work now will help start the garden space and begin to bring the community together to strengthen the bonds within that community. So come join us as we make a difference in Hamilton Heights again! Charlie Mike!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
