Our Core Values

The Principles That Guide Us

At The Mission Continues, we abide by five core values every day.  These core values go beyond a listing in a handbook or a new employee training manual – they reverberate through the words, actions, and spirit of our staff, Fellows, volunteers and partners.

The Core Values in Action

Just as service members take an oath to adhere to the core values of their branch of service, so do Mission Continues Fellows take an oath of continued service in their community. When Fellow Jenn Crane was commissioned into the United States Army, she stood shoulder to shoulder with the men and women beside her, and pledged to uphold the values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. Following a deployment to Afghanistan in 2003, Jenn returned home to face a new set of challenges: adjusting to civilian life and overcoming a Post-Traumatic Stress diagnosis.

Still determined to serve her community, Jenn completed her Mission Continues Fellowship with the Coatsville Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Throughout her continued service, she has embodied the core values of the Fellowship Program, utilizing her military skill sets and leadership to make a difference in her community.

“Somehow I imagine that if you have a spare hour in your week or if you chose to give back, those family and friends would join you…becoming a leader is not easy but there are already plenty of followers.”
—Jenn Crane, Army Veteran
